The Democrats, who have been defamed in our unsuspecting media coup, but President Manuel Zelaya actually removed completely from the legal office. Manuel Zelaya, an embarrassing wannabe Chavez, the corruption, drug suspect and former President of Honduras was on a constitutional amendment by popular referendum in which he should not allow a further period provided for by law. The Constitutional Court, but also the Congress, the Attorney General and the Ombudsman for Human Rights Honduras declared inadmissible for this step, only the Honduran Congress could decide such a constitutional amendment. As the chief military of the country, in accordance with democratic institutions and the federal courts refused to let up the polls for this referendum unconstitutional by the army, fired him Zelaya. The Constitutional Court declared it illegal and put it back in, Zelaya dismissed him again.

Shortly Zelaya was arrested by the army and flown to Costa Rica after the Constitutional Court ordered his removal from office.

It is impressive such as the Honduran democracy has stood up to the U.S. pressure and against the Unterminierungsversuche authoritarian neighbors. The small country can not be pushed around like a banana republic. The performance of the U.S. government in Central America, recalled the dark days of its foreign policy from the long-ago decades.

Clinton tried but the result now presented as a diplomatic triumph. Which is true. However, it is a triumph for the "insurgents", not for Clinton.

The U.S. Secretary of State must be happy that the crisis without any further loss of face (such as the debacle of their visit to Moscow) will end. And although presumably just as it Hondurans had planned from the beginning.
